The Fernwood Library is a space where members can freely borrow and share influential books, games, and other media that have shaped our community’s growth. One of the foundational books in our collection, The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, details how Franklin’s initiative made books accessible by creating the first library in America. At a time when books were hard to come by, consolidating all of the books from their community into one place make it more valuable for everyone, and allowing them to be shared with others. That same spirit drives the Fernwood Library: we believe in the power of books and media to inspire, educate, and spark meaningful conversations.
While digital copies are easy to access, there’s something special about holding a physical book or game. The experience of flipping through pages or engaging in a game creates a connection that digital formats can’t match. What makes our experience unique is the opportunity for members to discuss and exchange ideas about what they’ve read or played. It’s not just about borrowing items—it’s about deepening our understanding and appreciation for various topics through shared experiences.
Our collection currently focuses on entrepreneurship, business, investing, real estate, and health, but includes a variety of games and other media as well. Alongside each item, you’ll often find personal notes from previous users, sharing what they loved or didn’t love.
Below, you’ll find a Google Sheet listing all the available books, games, and media. To borrow something, simply let us know, and we’ll coordinate getting it to you. We ask that all members return items in good condition for others to enjoy. As the library grows, we look forward to hearing your thoughts, and future meetings at the Grasswood Clubhouse will provide a chance to discuss books and ideas together. Here’s to growing, learning, and shaping the future—one book (or game) at a time.
